Our Charity Golf Day on the 4th June 2010 raised £10,400.
A donation of £2,500 brought the total to £12,900.

The sun shone brightly, with blue skies and a gentle breeze, which gave the most perfect conditions for our third consecutive golf day at Wildood Golf and Country Club in Alfold, Surrey.

Sixty golfers played on Wildwood's fabulous championship course where the greens were in perfect condition for the event. After their 18 holes, with a Pimms and Danish half way stop, the golfers came in for a shower and change and were met in the bar for pre dinner drinks by a further 30 extra dinner guests for a fabulous four course dinner. The prize giving and auction followed with a speech from Dr Ines von Rosenstiel, the founder of Medical Checks for Children, who had flown over from Amsterdam for the event.

Maurice Hamilton, broadcaster, author and motor racing correspondent did a fine job as the auctioneer and the auction raised £5,670. The highlight of which, was the chance to sip a glass of champagne with Joanna Lumley who is appearing in La Bete at the Comedy Theatre in the West End, after her performance.

Bakehouse Ltd, Bagshot

Three members of staff at Bakehouse Ltd, Kamla Chumber, Qamarun Nisa and Libby Waddell, organised a sponsored 7km walk on the 5th June 2010. They raised £440 which was matched by the company's Charity Matching Scheme bringing the total to £880. Bakehouse also organised a Nepalese lunch where the staff would pay what they normally pay for their lunch and the company would match that amount. This brought a further £300. The total of £1,210 will be going directly to provide the day children at Pegasus School who are unable to bring lunch, a lunch time snack and a piece of fresh fruit.

Trustees

With regret, C.H.A.N.C.E for NEPAL says farewell to a most valued trustee, Tony Robin. Tony has worked tirelessly supporting the charity for the past two years. He has resigned due to other commitments but will continue to support our fund raising events.

Kate Fernandes was appointed a trustee in April 2009. Kate is the editor of the Challenger Magazine and has been supportive of C.H.A.N.C.E for several years. Each month she provides free advertising space to C.H.A.N.C.E where we are constantly looking for educational sponsors for two schools in Kathmandu. To date 17 children have received sponsorship and are all thriving.

As from April 2009 the trustees are: Barbara Datson (chair), Ken Rushton, Mike Telford, and Kate Fernandes.
