Medical Checks for Children

Medical Checks for Children (MCC) is a Dutch based charity founded in November 2005 by the paediatrician and former intensivist, Ines von Rosenstiel. MCC focuses its efforts in preventative and curative areas. The medical focus is directed at the prevention of disease, protection from disease, treatment of disease, and promotion of good health.

Shenpen

Rangjung Yeshe Shenpen is a volunteer-based, non-profit organisation established to alleviate poverty and address social challenges principally in Nepal. Founded in 2004 by Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche and working under his direction, Shenpen focuses on helping the poor and disadvantaged gain access to healthcare facilities, education, shelter and employment opportunities and to improve the care and treatment of animals.

Kinder-Nepals

The Foundation Kinder Nepals was set up by Susanne Volkmann in 2000 onwards. This foundation supports mobile medical teams in Nepal. These teams comprise doctors, nurses, medical students and non health professionals. The foundation facilitates the teams with medicines, medical equipment and human resources to cater for the Nepali children in need. Susanne also provides individual sponsorships for education and local projects for hygiene information.

Pahar Trust

The Pahar Trust is a British based charity established in 1992 by Tom Langridge MBE and Chandra Bahadur Gurung.Its main focus is raising the funds necessary and co-ordinating the construction of schools in remote areas of East and West Nepal.  Currently 50 schools have been completed and opened.  Several more are under construction in both East and West Nepal. The trust also runs a child sponsorship scheme with over 100 needy children and their families being sponsored.

C.H.A.N.C.E for Nepal sponsors two teachers’ salaries in a remote school in Eastern Nepal and provides a scholarship for a gifted student once a year.

Gomde: Lindholme Hall Estate

Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche is the spiritual director of a new international centre in England for the study and practice of Vajrayana Buddhism. The centre, acquired in the autumn of 2009, is set in 120 acres of woodland which itself is located in the centre of a 3,500 acre nature reserve. Lindholme Hall offers a place of quietude and seclusion for beginners wishing to learn about Buddhism as well as existing practitioners who wish to develop their practice in a supported environment.
