CHANCE FOR NEPAL

CHANCE for NEPAL is delighted to have funded a new school in the remote village of Dhanbot, near Surkhet, in the Dang region of Nepal. The school had its opening ceremony at the beginning of April 2017.

All the materials for the school had to be carried up to the new site, which was a day’s walk from the nearest road. This meant that every 50kg bag of sand, cement and gravel had to be carried up hill on the back of a labourer to enable the school to be built. There are 150 children registered at the school and 115 plus will attend regularly. The government has provided 3 teacherss and GMIN have taken on 4 other teachers. We love supporting the fantastic organisation of GMIN – This is the 36th school they have built.
