An exciting new project funded by CHANCE with our partner Shenpen at the Mitra Aadharbhut Vidhayala School in Chabahil, Kathmandu.
A ‘Tiffin’ (light nutritious meal) meal is being provided daily to the poorest children at this government school from July 2017. For many children this will be their first mouthful of food that day, and there may be little to eat when they go home. Often the youngest children fall asleep during classes as their energy levels and concentration drops throughout the day. By introducing Tiffin, up goes the child’s concentration, thus happy teachers and happy children. In total 77 children are receiving this support.
Through Shenpen, CHANCE sponsors the education of 4 children at government schools.
The first photograph shows all the children in this programme with the teachers…. thumbs up I would say! A happy child has a full tummy. We are delighted to be part of this initiative.
